Whether you’re ready to jump in or just doing your homework, these are the questions we hear most from people who are curious about what coaching at Over50FitLife actually looks like — and what’s possible for them.
GETTING STARTED
Is Over50FitLife coaching online or in-person?
Our coaching is 100% online, which means you get world-class programming, accountability, and expert guidance from anywhere — your home gym, your living room, or a hotel on the road. No commute, no gym membership required.
How do I get started?
It starts with a free Fit Consultation call. We’ll spend 20–30 minutes talking about where you are, where you want to go, and what’s been holding you back. From there, we design a personalized plan. You can book your free call at over50fitlife.com/book-online.
I’ve never worked out before. Is this program right for me?
Absolutely — in fact, beginners often see the fastest results. Every program is built from your starting point, not someone else’s. We begin with movement fundamentals, build solid habits, and progress at a pace that’s challenging but safe. No experience needed — just willingness.
What age group is this designed for?
Our sweet spot is men and women between 50 and 75, though we work with anyone whose body and goals align with our approach. We specialize in the unique physiology of midlife and beyond — hormonal changes, joint considerations, sarcopenia, and the importance of recovery.
TRAINING & FITNESS
Do I need a gym membership or special equipment?
No gym required. We design programs around whatever you have access to — full gym, home dumbbells, resistance bands, or even just your bodyweight. During your consultation, we’ll assess your setup and build accordingly.
How much time per week do I need to commit?
Most clients train 2 to 4 days per week, 25–45 minutes per session. Research shows that for adults over 50, quality beats quantity — 3 focused sessions per week can outperform 6 unfocused ones. Recovery is built into every program because that’s when your body actually changes.
Can I train if I have arthritis, bad knees, or chronic joint pain?
Yes — and the right movement can actually reduce joint pain over time. We specialize in training people with common midlife conditions including arthritis, bad knees, lower back issues, and shoulder impingements. We modify exercises to work around limitations and focus on building the muscles that support your joints. We always recommend getting medical clearance from your doctor before starting any new fitness program.
I’m taking a GLP-1 medication (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro). Can I still train?
Absolutely — and strength training is one of the most important things you can do while on a GLP-1. These medications can cause significant muscle loss along with fat loss if you’re not actively training and eating enough protein. Our programs are specifically designed to protect and build lean muscle while your body is in a caloric deficit.
How long before I start seeing results?
Most clients notice meaningful changes within 3–6 weeks: better sleep, more daily energy, reduced joint stiffness, and improved mood. Visible strength and body composition changes typically show up at 8–12 weeks. The first 2–3 weeks are a neuromuscular ‘wiring’ phase where your nervous system is adapting — this is real progress even if you can’t see it in the mirror yet.
COACHING & PROGRAMS
What’s included in the coaching packages?
All packages include a personalized training program, ongoing coaching and program adjustments, and direct access to your coach. The Complete Transformation Package also includes nutrition guidance, full accountability check-ins, and priority response times.
How is coaching delivered?
Your initial consultation is a live video or phone call. After that, coaching is delivered via a combination of a personalized program, messaging check-ins, and scheduled video check-ins. You’ll always have a direct line to your coach — no automated chatbots or impersonal portals.
Do you work with both men and women?
Yes — we coach both men and women over 50. Our programming accounts for the different hormonal shifts and physiological needs of men and women in midlife, including how post-menopausal changes affect muscle retention, fat distribution, and bone density.
NUTRITION
Do you provide a nutrition plan?
Nutrition guidance is included in our Complete Transformation Package. For other tiers, we provide general evidence-based guidelines. We apply current sports nutrition research specifically relevant to adults over 50 — particularly around protein timing, muscle synthesis, and managing energy through the day.
How much protein do I really need after 50?
More than you think. Current research recommends 1.2 to 1.6 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day for active adults over 50 — significantly higher than the outdated RDA. Protein becomes harder to absorb and use efficiently as we age, so hitting your target consistently is one of the highest-leverage things you can do to preserve and build muscle.
Do I have to follow a specific diet (keto, low-carb, etc.)?
No specific diet required. We focus on principles — adequate protein, whole foods, sustainable habits — rather than rigid diet labels. The best eating approach is one you can actually maintain. We’ll work with your food preferences, cultural background, and lifestyle to make it realistic and sustainable.
LOGISTICS
What’s your cancellation or refund policy?
The free consultation can be cancelled or rescheduled anytime through the booking confirmation link. For paid programs, please reach out directly and we’ll work with you — we always prefer a conversation over a cancellation.
What if I have a medical condition or I’m recovering from surgery?
We work with many clients who are navigating health conditions or post-surgical recovery. We always recommend obtaining medical clearance from your physician first. Once you have the green light, we design programs that respect your limitations and work with your body’s current state. If we feel your case requires additional medical oversight beyond our scope, we’ll tell you honestly.
I still have a question that isn’t answered here. What do I do?
Just ask! You can send us a message at over50fitlife.com/contact, or the fastest way to get answers is to book a free consultation — no pressure, no commitment, just a real conversation about what’s possible for you.
